Okay… started with a broad Piece 1, followed with a Will Smith-ian Piece 2, and now my friends and foes, The Show. There was, pretty much, one surprise winner on the Oscar show on Sunday night. No Time To Die won Best Song over Encanto’s Dos Oruguitas
Your comments about the show are spot on David, beginning to end. It was a mess. These are truly rarified, cultured, accamplished people. The Academy could just own who they are instead of insulting themeselves, their work, even their museum by dumbing down. It comes off as pandering..... phony.
You should take time off and write a book. You certainly have the writing chops and insight to pull it off. A distillation of your 25 years following the biz would make for an very interesting read.
"Power of the Dog" confused viewers. Last scenes needed to be reshot. Few grasped what happened or how. Better sc, pls. ~~And No real Ending. ~ Otherwise, good arty pic....(?).
