You seem to have an allergy towards pulpy movies. Conclave is well-made pulp. Studios used to put out movies like on the regular not long ago, with The Firm, A Time To Kill, Double Jeopardy. Is your problem that pulp has no place at the awards table?
I love pulp movies. But no, not as Oscar front runners… with very rare exceptions. Parasite was pulp… but of a higher order.
