As a producer, what that means is that for an ongoing show you likely will have to tell people who have been on the show previously that they either have to take a pay cut or you fire everyone and bring in new people as there’s a bump each year, you are on a show you make a little bit more money, perhaps the producer did not want to have to deliver that news to the workers. Despite the fact that crew is referred to kind of as a group they tend to be people who work together all the time and who will take offense at being asked to take a pay cut to stay on the show. Even with unscripted being down 57% since the peak, there are still some of us who will be unwilling to take a pay cut to continue working.
