I ranted for over 30 minutes earlier this week about the horrifyingly stupid and legitimacy-disqualifying story by Brooks Barnes in the New York Times last week. Then tonight, my wife, who is very civilian, brought it up because NYT pushed this crap out again. So I am going to do a quick written piece for clarity.

I can’t speak to why the New York Times has such a clear and repeated - now over decades - dislike for movie theaters… but the paper of record has been relentless and relentlessly wrong on this subject and the editors should be embarrassed.

Some were heavily marketed. Many were championed by critics. Most had star power.

But not one of the 25 dramas and comedies that movie companies released in North American theaters over the past three months has become a hit, certainly not in the way that Hollywood has historically kept score. Some have played to near-empty auditoriums, including “After the Hunt,” starring Julia Roberts; “Christy,” with Sydney Sweeney; and “Die My Love,” …
