THB #765: Sad

I am feeling the weight of the world these days.

Not the normal stuff of family and friends and work and such. The world is a heavy place right now. And it is very, very easy to get lost in the threat of it all.

Tomorrow, those who are hungry in America will, by political intention, become hungrier. Dare I say it, starving. My kid’s school is raising money/support to help feed the kids in the school whose families don’t have the wherewithal to keep the wolves from the door.

I don’t know if there are still well-intended but maliciously-assigned Marines hovering around unknown sections of Los Angeles doing absolutely nothing for another major city that is not under any unusual threat.

Yet, I will still send my 15-year-old out tomorrow night to ask strangers for candy with his friends in a safe neighborhood of Los Angeles. Life can’t just stop. Lingering in pain, one’s own or that of those around you, is not a good way to live in a mentally healthy way. But neither is turning our backs.
