THB #702: Disney Q2 2025

So the story of this quarterly starts with the quarterly, released at 3:50am Pacific this morning.

Or did it start at It started at 5a Pacific on CNBC, when David Faber turned up in a segment, not previously promoted, announcing a new Abu Dhabi Disney Park with Bob Iger and Parks chief Josh D’Amaro appearing live from Abu Dhabi? They and Disney CFO Hugh Johnston got ahead of their Investors audio webcast with the announcement, which is not mentioned in the quarterly document.

Iger’s previously written and then spoken opening remarks (at 5:30a Pacific) led not with the quarterly results, but with the new park, which is being built, fully funded, and operated (all with oversight from Disney) by Miral.

It will take 6 - 8 years for the park to open.

I am not a Disney-ologist, so I was interested to learn that Tokyo Disney was built in pretty much the same way (as noted by Iger), which might explain why Disney Tokyo seems to be so much more technologically advanced… Disney wasn’t paying th…
