THB #590: These Times
My approach to writing this newsletter has always been that you, the reader, is a friend who I really want to talk to… that I have something to say to you.
And for the last few days, that just hasn’t been true.
It’s not that I have nothing to say… I always have something to say. But right now, I don’t feel like there is a lot, in the big picture, to talk about. David Reads The Trades has sucked up all the smaller things to discuss… I don’t need to do a whole column on the Megalopolis trailer fiasco or a last minute bid for Paramount Global. This really isn’t meant to be a political outlet, so the DNC conversation is pretty much me-exclusive to twitter. I’m guessing you don’t need a column about the weather.
I keep thinking I want to write something about the significant reduction in the size of the filmed entertainment business we are now going through and that it feels like The End, when it is a correction that could be seen (and was seen) coming years ago. But who needs me David-spla…
