I don’t like to oversimplify, but this one… ay yie yie!

If I had not been overwhelmed by the next two newsletters I am pushing out, trying to offer a reasonable look at the future of television and film, I probably wouldn’t bother writing this review. But I feel like I have underdelivered this week so…

The Take Your Daughter To Work Summer of M. Night Shyamalan continues. To be fair, I still haven’t seen Ishana Shyamalan’s The Watchers, which I actually wanted to see and hope has something of value to it, even with a 32% on Rotten Tomatoes. But now, Night has delivered maybe the worst film of his directing career… at least the worst one that he actually had some control of making. (Yes, After Earth, I am looking at you.)

Why did he think it was a good idea to do this to his daughter, Saleka Shyamalan, who not only gets to play the blandest pop star in history (who does a concert with no costume changes), but…
