So… that happened.
As always, interesting, likable people who have worked hard to create some entertainment who then win awards for that work is compelling. Joy is compelling. Maybe you agree with what won, maybe you don’t. It really doesn’t matter. (I don’t think it matters if I agree either.) There is something dark and unpleasant having much of anything to say in a negative way when people are being honored for good work.
Oscar nomination voting will begin on Thursday… will the Golden Globes winners have any significant influence at all as Oscar voters starts clicking boxes? No. Never really has.
And that takes into account that it is completely possible that the Oscars could match this set of winners exactly. Obviously, Oscar doesn’t split comedy and drama and does split Screenplay. There are 11 Globe categories that “match.”
