I am rarely at a loss for words… but I am coming up short this morning.
I have a piece that I spent hours on last week, shredding alleged myths about the strike that was so AMPTP-leaning that I wondered where Carol Lombardini got the time.
But who the hell cares at this point?
We don’t have the details of the WGA/AMPTP settlement… maybe later today… but nothing to gnaw on until then except people leaping to assumptions.
I considered a Day of Atonement piece yesterday… but it doesn’t feel like the time to demand atonement from anyone in the industry, even if many have a lot for which to ask forgiveness. We are in a healing moment… at least until/unless SAG negotiations go badly sideways.
I’m even sick of policing the media... especially around the strike. I’ve become Sean Connery in The Untouchables, but without an Eliot Ness with more authority to turn me loose. I’m not eager enough to be Eliot Ness myself.
