The late-show guys have withdrawn from early on.
Today and The View are produced under their networks’ news banners, so they will continue on. Really, Whoopi Goldberg is the only one on those shows as a host who has a non-talk-show career to protect.
I have been calling for months for rolling boycotts of The Streamers. The pushback from insiders has been that it isn’t clear that there would be enough people doing it to be sure that there would be the impact that would be desired… that if not enough people participated, it would be embarrassing.
What we have seen this week illuminates why even a hundred-thousand temporary disconnections would matter… because it’s not about destroying the bottom line. It’s about hurt feelings.
