THB #384: HFPA Is Dead... Long Live HFPA
What can one say about the a seriously problematic organization which responded to being exposed as such by becoming more problematic as a private organization with no accountability whatsoever, which then, after failing in its chance for redemption, triples down to become nothing but a brand, The Golden Globes, that its new owners, who have no discernable standards for value, honor or legitimacy, will simply try to convert into a profit center, regardless of what this requires?
(shrug)
Can’t really celebrate the end of an organization that stained the industry while its corpse is being reanimated by 2 attention-seeking billionaires as something even less connected to the idea of celebrating cinema.
