As I started in Groundhog Day: Streaming Like It's 1999, these are very interesting times.
A couple of days ago, Richard Rushfield wrote an interesting piece, How to Fix the David Zaslav Problem, which left me wondering, “What David Zaslav problem?”
Of course, that sounds idiotic if you are on Twitter and wandering through the daily “Zaslav is the mortal enemy of cinema” tweets or reading striking WGA members focusing on Zaslav as though he was the one insisting on AMPTP showing such nasty, thoughtless disregard for the WGA proposals to settle the strike. Clearly, to many, Zaslav is the walking embodiment of what is wrong with the television and film industry in 2023.
Of course, this is bullshit, on its face.
But don’t let facts get in the way of a good, worked-up head of rage.
