THB #331: The Saturday Of The Underwhelming Live
It came and went without any notable impact. Three events, live, two of which were actually groundbreaking.
The Independent Spirit Awards went to YouTube, following in the wake of SAG/AFTRA, then Netflix’s first live show on Netflix, with Chris Rock’s first broadcast performance since last year’s Oscars debacle, and closing out the night, good ol’ Saturday Night Live.

You may recall that there was, ahem, reporting that 1 million people watched the SAG Awards when anyone who did turn in to the YouTube even could plainly see that the viewer count never rose as high as 250,000.
The Independent Spirit Awards meter never seemed to go above 9,000 viewers.
