THB #316: Dazed & Confused

I’ve been sick for over a week. I believe it is over today, but I have been questioning whether my crystal ball was completely broken or if my increasing sense that people seem to think the earthquake has happened when, in reality, we are only feeling the tremors before the big quake.

I lean towards being rational/optimistic in my view of this industry. Fantasy thinking irritates me. But I want to fantasize too. It’s more fun! I want everyone who does what they should need to do to win to win.

Where the industry is sitting right now is very much where I have been writing about it heading for a few years already. Coming back down to reality in streaming was inevitable. And we are far from being out of the woods. But I have been preaching the gospel of multiple revenue streams, maximizing via all possible windows, variety in strategy between the various big footprint companies, etc.
