THB #303: The Day With No Words
I feel like I have been staring at this screen all day.
I’m in a very philosophical mood and all kinds of ideas have come and gone.
I debated with myself about a newsletter called, “Balls!” Then it became “Huevos!” because I don’t want to be sexist.
The idea was that the industry is in a mode where there is way too much playing for the middle going on when, in reality, this is a business that is all about risk.
Then it was going to be “The Idiot’s Guide To The Transition To Streaming.” Try to simplify… not always my strongest skill set.
Streaming is Television. Period. The new components are “on demand,” unbundled bundles, an ad strategy for the majority of people who don’t want to pay for SVOD across the globe and who will need relief as the pricing rises amongst the big Streamers, and the “Linear Experience,” which a lot of people, not all over 60 still want along with on-demand.
