THB #292: Top Movies of 2022, Pt 2 of 2
This year-ended was not supposed to be two newsletters… but I found the maximum length for a Substack newsletter, which is apparently based on what G-mail will deliver. Learn something new every day. Every. Single. Day.
The Top 10 column was actually a lot easier than this one. The 53 movies that will be poked at here are loaded with all kinds of feelings…. some of which I am not that comfortable sharing. And I’m not talking about the 9 films I hated (h/t Roger). I mean my equivocations on the 44 films that I like to various degrees.
I’ve broken them in to two groups, Movies I Liked, But Not As Much As I Wanted To and Twenty-One More That I Really, Really Like A Lot... and a really odd group of 2 titles. I am not 100% confident that the split between these lists is not a distinction without a difference.
I think the “Not As Much” list has more distinct reasons why these films are not in my Top 10 and might not make my Top 20 or 21. The other list’s films…
