THB #291: Top 10 Movies of 2022, Pt 1 of 2

I kinda hate doing a Top 10 list.

And this year, I hate it more than usual, because I really enjoyed most of the year of film and if something is not in the Top 10 or the Top 5 or #1, it tends to make people feel like I am minimizing the work. I’m not. I’m just offering my personal feelings.

There are more than 50 titles that will be mentioned in a positive way in this newsletter and the next… and 9 films that I will single out for personal negativity. But there isn’t one of the 50+ that I would not encourage you to see, whether I loved it, liked it, liked it less than I wanted to or thought were overrated in some quarters.

Our relationship with art should never become just trying to figure out what we will love, easily tickling the good feelings of familiarity and comfort.
