THB #290: This Is The End... of 2022
I’m not sure quite how to say goodbye to this year.
I’m sick of reading about how the filmed entertainment industry is dying even as it is making more content and employing more artists and reaching more people than ever in the history of mankind.
I’m exhausted by the number of smug fools in media who think they know everything when they know stunningly little, but have been close enough to the machinery for so long that they don’t know the difference.
I’m a little tired of myself today.
This is the year in which Netflix imploded the streaming business market on Wall Street and then danced away with all the same people who overinflated it in the first place, who started reinflating it again, while all of its major competitors continue to be within 25% of their lows for the year for no reason other than being in the same business as Netflix, though every single one of the other companies is more diversified.
