I seemed to be the only one, a few months back, willing to note that we were looking at a pretty Oscar-So-White kind of season of Academy nominations. Fifteen years ago and until the last few years, I have been one of the few journalists willing to acknowledge that racial prejudice at the Academy was a real thing and that it had a real effect on nominations and wins.
